This is my entry for 
's Spring contest. Took this while on trip with my family in Nachal Orvim (Crows river), Golan Heights.
I liked the fact this flower simply popped out of the rocks, unlike most of the plants around (it's a very green place), and also liked its unique inflorescence.

I love the title as well. I'm glad you used black and white because in an odd way it draws attention to the life in the picture, which would normally be bright. The focus makes you examine the photo more closely, but if the whole flowering part was in focus the effect might have had more of an impact. Then again, I know nothing about photography. Overall, great shot =]
